After introducing Anastasia, Colborn went upstairs to get his laptop. Burkhart phoned Celmund that was more than happy to setup anything that my woman might need. “I should phone my boss; he might be able to help.” At her comment I tense, I don’t want anyone alerted about what we are looking for before we actually have any information. I place my hand over Anastasia’s that is laying next to the laptop and squeeze gently.

“Maybe we hold off talking to anyone until we know what we are dealing with.” At my statement she turns her head to look at me, a frown on her face.

“Are you telling me not to speak to my boss?” there is a tone of irritation in her voice.

“We don’t know anything about him, as far as we know he might be involved.” At my reply, her frown turns into a glare.

“I have been working for Mr. Smith for years and I can tell you that he wouldn’t be involved in something like this.” At the defence of this man I tense, why the hell is she so defensive of a man that is her boss?

“Why are you so defensive of this man?” my voice is low as I lean towards her, I see her tense and her eyes sharpen in anger.

“Are you insinuating that I have something going on with my boss?” I hadn’t thought about that but now at the thought of another man touching my woman my whole-body tenses as my vision starts to sharpen. If that son of a bitch ever touched my women, he is dead.

“Do you?” At my question I suddenly yelp as my hand feels like it has been scorched by flame, but fire will never burn me, pulling my hand back I feel its coldness through my bones. “Did you just freeze my hand?”

“You’re an ass.” With those words, she suddenly stands and turns making her way out of the bar area.

“Not so fast,” I mutter as I take off after her, grabbing her arm I turn her around and push her against the wall near the door. “Don’t even think of freezing me again because I will use my fire to thaw you.”

“Let go of me, you think that I have something going with my boss?”

“Why are you so defensive of him?” I ask instead of answering her question, which has her pushing at my chest, when I don’t budge, she slaps my chest angrily grunting in anger.

“He’s old enough to be my father, I wouldn’t sleep with someone at work.” At her reply I relax knowing that she’s not defending the man because of any hidden feelings.

“Then why do you defend him?”

“He’s my boss, half of the time he doesn’t’ even know what is going on in the company if it wasn’t for me.” At her statement I nod and then I start to lower my head to kiss her as my body is well aware of her nearness and is responding, but she shoves at me glaring.
